11:18 pm - Oh Canada!
Time for my biennial LJ update! :-)

Just got back from a great trip visiting my best friend Babs ([info]babsbunny) up in Canada! Had a wonderful time, and was so good to get to see her again since she moved out back in April. It was my first time visiting her in Canada and wanted to post it here to keep a record of it too.

11:39 pm - Bunny Bunny! Pin-Up Calendar
Just a quicky! My best friend [info]babsbunny made a new classy, cute, sexy picture of her new fursonae, and I thought it'd make a perfect calendar pin-up wallpaper! ;-)

No specific plans for future months at this time, but stay tooned, who knows! :-)

1:30 am - Going down? Not so fast...
Well, this was certainly a memorable day! Babs ([info]babsbunny) got out of work early today and I drove her home. I went back to work and worked late. Geoff, a co-worker in my office was also working late. He went out to take a break, but came back shortly, saying the power was out (computers in our office were running on backup power, so hadn't noticed) and the stairs were still closed (an alarm would go off if opened them).

Well that being the case, I wait a little while later, until he goes try again around 7 pm. I decide to go with him and see what's up. Going out of our office half the lights were going on and off. I got over to the elevators and there were already people getting into one of them, including Geoff. I ask if it's ok with the power issues, and they said yes (seems several other elevators had come and gone just fine).

So I get on, and there's six of us, including a girl in a wheelchair. We were on the fifth floor and the doors closed and started down. But it wasn't but a few seconds before the lights flickered, then went totally out. Worried for a moment we were going to be stuck and in total darkness, much to our relief the lights very shortly came back on.

But unfortunately, several minutes later, the elevator itself wasn't starting to move again. We ring the bell, then shortly after I use the elevator phone to call down to the security desk. Rich (the security guard on duty) answers and we let him know we're stuck. He lets us know not to touch any buttons and that he was going to go reset something, to start the elevators back up.

Whew, well it's certainly not an experience I'll forget too soon, and definitely spiced up the evening. Certainly wasn't bored. :-) I even managed to get some photos, so check them out:

11:49 pm - Start of the Christmas season!
Well as [info]babsbunny mentioned yesterday, the holiday season is upon us, and it's looking good!

We've put up our new / first Christmas tree, along with other decor, and it really helps make it feel like it!

We took a few pics and wanted to show them off:

[Christmas Tree and Babs]

Just a few pics, and we're going to have to wait until next year to get some decorations Babs has back in MD, but we're still quite happy about it! :-) This is actually mine / our first tree that wasn't owned by the family, so that's pretty cool too! :-)

12:54 am - More NYC and some SL (Second Life)
Well, we've been back from New York for a little while, but in case you didn't catch it, I've posted more pictures since my last entry here, including this:

[Burned out Limo Photo]

Police, firetrucks..
An exploded limo?
A terrorist attack?

Nope, turns out it was just a limo engine fire in a busy downtown part of NY. Certainly not something you see all too often. At least I don't. :-)

Weird, I just happen to be posting this on 9/11 too.. Go figure.

Oh! And I've been checking out this 3D online environment, called Second Life. For those familiar with MUCKs/etc, it's similar to that, but graphical based, in 3D. Overall, I think I find more advantages to the text-based ones still.

But, Lili and I were checking out this one place, which had areas you could sit and snuggle in together. It was just so cute, I had to take a couple of "photos" to keep:

[Lili and Squirrelly snuggle photo 1] [Lili and Squirrelly snuggle photo 2]

A little "clipping" on the first one, but I think they look really nice. :-) And of course Lili looks so cute, especially in her PJs. :-)

1:44 am - Up Late and Live in New York City!
First off, no, it hasn't been 11 months yet. But I figured I'd post anyways, as I'm right now vacationing in NYC with some friends! :-) Plus I have a new laptop with a wireless connection, which makes it even better. :-) Can post from right here in my room!

[info]babsbunny, [info]nefaria, and myself arrived here on Saturday. Babs and I actually drove all the way out here, leaving in the middle of the night. Nefaria flew out here.

We've been having fun, hanging out with our friend Rapid T. Rabbit and just going all over town. Not really doing the tourist thing, rather than just hanging out at places and hitting shops and parks we really like. Like getting Babs a new Chococat plush. :-) And relaxing in a quiet, out of the way spot in Strawberry Fields. All good stuff.

I can even upload photos from my camera to my laptop, and then upload them online! Though that really takes a long time on slow connection... :-P

So having done so, here they are in a temp folder for your enjoyment!:

[NY trip temp gallery]

More to come I'm sure, as we spend more time around town!

8:56 pm - Rocket City FurMeet (RCFM) 2005
Howdy hi, everyone! I'm still around, even if I don't use LJ all too much. However, did have some fun down in Alabama for RCFM, a furry con!

Most furry cons are fun just for hanging out with folks and having a good time, and so was RCFM. Nice and relaxing too, not being too big of one.

Darth Lili (as pictured above) was absolutely adorable! Scritchie Force! And there was Chibi Jimmy, what Babs called her Star Wars figure I got her. :-)

I do have to thank TechWolf and the con folks for helping us get there and back while both our cars are out of service!

Feel free to check out the gallery for more photos.

Until next time!

8:27 pm - Updates, Updates, Updates!
Well it has been a while since I had a chance to post, so felt I'd catch up on everything!

Last time I posted, I had gone to NY and had a great time. Since then some things I've gotten to do have been:

[Morphicon Image] Morphicon 2004 - A small but very close furry convention where we had a pretty good time. It was a little haphazard, but since it was right in town, it wasn't like it was that much trouble. Plus [info]babsbunny did win a contest and her art was featured on the con shirt!
[Morphicon T-Shirt Image] And it features her own character: Lili!

[Whitehall Car Show Image] Whitehall Car Show - And the same weekend as Morphicon we also checked out a small local car show, which was nice too.

[Red White & Boom Image] Red White & Boom, 2004! - This was certainly a fun time for the 4th of July weekend, hanging out with a bunch of folks from The Max checking out the big fireworks display! And we went out to eat a tasty dinner at BD's Mongolian BBQ before the big show.

[Anthrocon 2004 Image] Anthrocon 2004 - Definitely the biggest furry convention around, [info]babsbunny, [info]nefaria, and I were there from Thur July 8th thru Mon July 12th! There wasn't much food, but there was a lot of fun things to do, and especially getting to see a lot of online friends in person that normally don't get to see much of the rest of the year!

[Kings Island Image] Kings Island - And most recently, but not least by any means, we went with some of The Max again, this time to Kings Island down in Cincinnati, and fun was had by all! I especially was happy that got to go one one of the roller coasters (Adventure Express) with Babs, who normally won't get near a coaster, and she loved it! She actually went on it three times even, and now she's planning on checking out another one next year! Woot!

Well I think that's more than plenty for one posting! Heh, too much I'm sure. But enjoy the photos and I'll be posting at you again, someday! :-)

11:58 pm - My first NY City trip!
Well as you likely know, I have the hardest time getting around to doing anything with LJ, much less updating my own. But it's been a couple of weeks and I've really been wanting to post about my trip to NY, so gonna do it regardless. :-)

Click here for the details of the trip! )

Overall we had a great week in NY, and even with all the great stuff and places, the best part was all the fun I had with my friends there, and I'm really looking forward to doing it again!

Btw, feel free to check out my photo gallery of the trip!

4:50 pm - Round up
Howdy hi! Well been a while since I've gotten to update my journal, or even read other journals actually. So thought might post a little roundup of what things have been happening.

First off it's been a great holiday season all around! Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years were all spent having a really great time! Thanksgiving and Christmas both Babs and I went up to spend in MI with my family. She just loves the big home cooked meals, and my family thinks she's just great. We all get along wonderfully. And for Christmas she even got a pretty nice haul in gifts as well. :-) We decorated our own place too, though not nearly to the same extent, but still was a very nice feeling to the place, with a wreath on the door and lights and such up.

New Years we went to a get-together/party of a bunch of furries, mainly of folks Babs knew, but about half of them were folks I had met before too, so it was all a lot of fun. We had pizza and home baked cookies, and sung karaoke until it got close to midnight, then watched the countdown on TV and celebrated the New Year. People were all searching all sorts of weird stuff up on google, and we watched an even weirder anime called Cat Soup, just pretty much defines description. :-) Personally I'm grateful for the great friend and new roommate [info]babsbunny! And the lots of new friends I've gotten to make over the year. And certainly for my family and friends I've had for more than a year now (some many many years). I'm looking forward to what 2004 has to bring!

And though it was a while ago, back in the fall Babs and I went out to the Park in our area, and it was very lovely. Maybe in this cold and wet weather, some nice fall pics will help cheer ya' up! Enjoy. :-)

3:32 pm - Aurora Borealis Wow!
[Aurora Pic]

Wow - Babs really was dying to see the Aurora Borealis and I'd never seen it and very much wanted to see it too, so grabbed Babs and we drove about 15 minutes out of town to this nice dark area near a lake on the edge of what looked like a farmer's field, which had a great view to the north.

At first we were not sure we were seeing it, but soon it became clear as they got brighter that we were looking at curtains of shifting, colored light! We just stood out there and marveled at the sights, and I took some photos too.. We hated to go, but it was late and Babs was getting cold, so we decided to reluctantly head back home.

It was certainly a trip well worth taking! :-)

3:51 pm - Boo! Zoo?
Well last Sunday I went to "Boo at the Zoo" in Akron, OH for my first time, and had a real fun time! While the zoo itself was pretty cool, the most fun was hanging out with all the furries and just goofin' around and having fun!

[Boo at the Zoo pic]

Enjoyed the car ride too, singling Tiny Toons songs and just kicking back and chatting (well other than getting lost and almost run over..)!

Took a bunch of Boo at the Zoo photos too that ya' can check out. :-)

1:09 am - Phenomenon
Well I've been trying to post this for days, but due to problems with my hosting I haven't been able to. I think it was like Tuesday or something. [info]babsbunny and I went to Wal-Marts and when we came out, we saw parts of a rainbow up ahead in the direction of the sun, but then someone else pointed to behind us, and there was this very vibrant double rainbow!:

[CBRainbow Image]

Well okay, that wasn't the actual rainbow.. :-) I didn't have my camera at the time. But it was certainly one of the best we seen, and there was actually a second rainbow just a little further out that was harder to see though.

And just as we got home there was this fantastic looking super red glowing sunset.. But do to some troubles caused by the kitten making a mess at home, by the time I got my camera and ran off to a place down the road where I could get a decent enough shot, this was all I caught:

[Sunset Image]

You can still just see traces of what was a bright red painted scene a few minutes earlier.

2:58 am - Once upon a time...
Well Babs did one of these and seemed pretty silly enough to me. :-) (And hopefully my spelling isn't so bad..)

FAIRY TALE

Once upon a time there has a young PUBLIC TELEPHONE CLEANER named SQUIRRELLY. He was STRANGELY RECYCLING in the SPARKLING forest when he met HAPPY BOB, a run-away NOODLE TESTER from the SQUISHY Queen DEANNA.

SQUIRRELLY could see that HAPPY BOB was hungry so he reached into his PANTS and give him his VIBRATING CARROT. HAPPY BOB was thankful for SQUIRRELLY's CARROT, so he told SQUIRRELLY a very JIGGLING story about Queen DEANNA's daughter BABS. How her mother, the SQUISHY Queen DEANNA, kept her locked away in a CAR DEALERSHIP protected by a gigantic LOVE BUG, because BABS was so ITSY BITSY.

SQUIRRELLY MOANED. He vowed to HAPPY BOB the NOODLE TESTER that he would save the ITSY BITSY BABS. He would BOUNCE the LOVE BUG, and take BABS far away from her eveil mother, the SQUISHY Queen DEANNA, and GOOSE her.

Then, all of the sudden, there was a GURGLING BREEZE and HAPPY BOB the NOODLE TESTER began to laugh. With a puff of smoke he turned into the gigantic LOVE BUG from his story. SQUISHY Queen DEANNA BURSTED out from behind a HAPPY WAND and struck SQUIRRELLY dead. In the far off CAR DEALERSHIP you could hear a SQUEAL.

THE END.

1:06 am - Bunny Bloom!
Wooo! Bunny Bloom came and visited with me!

[photo of Bunny Bloom in my room]

Yep, I'm the luckiest squirrel there is! :-) This is gonna totally rock, with Babs as Bloom at AC.. This is just a preview taste, as she's not quite done with it either. But she sure looks great in it already!

Check out more of her in what will eventually be my Babs Obsession page: Babs as Bunny Bloom!

Enjoy, and eat yer heart out! :-)

4:27 pm - My brain hurts...
I just spent over 40 minutes trying to get a guy to just put his e-mail address into a field for his dial-up user name.. and he wouldn't.. He'd get to other fields, other windows, and who knows what.. I never did get him to do it.. Gah.. And that's all he needed to do to fix his connection.

Now by contrast, my next call was the same thing.. Had the guy not only transfered in from the wrong department, figured out his problem, and had him update his username all in about 3 minutes.

My poor brain.. :-)

10:51 am - Boom Boom Boom!
Went to Red White and Boom! with [info]babsbunny and Charley, whom got down there early and held us a seat for when we went after work. It was lots of fun, hanging out walking down the streets with the vendors and live music (pretty loud too). Then just chilling in the park chatting and hanging out together, then watching the fireworks.

The fireworks themselves were really cool. A great show and all, and we had a pretty good view. I really wish I had taken my camera, but had forgotten to take it to work with me, and we went straight from there to the show. But that's okay, as I had a fantastic time. Even just walking around on the way back to the car was enjoyable. Was a beautiful night. Lots of people on the streets. The busses were packed to the brims you could see. Glad we weren't taking one of those!

Today it's very slow at work. But that's okay. Getting paid time and a half for it, so not like I mind. :-)

After work I'm going to a recruitment drive with The Max gang, and maybe we'll see T3, which would be real cool.

You've been warned! :-)

[Deanna Mew Photo]

Told you so. :-) Friday [info]babsbunny and I had a new addition to the house, named Deanna Mew! (Yes technically she's Babs's cat, but we're all her family :-).

10:30 pm - Home Sweet Home!
Not that went anywhere, but the place is looking plenty different what with new furnature and fixings! Have a new sofa which is really nice looking and we really needed for some time now. And a kitchen dining set that looks cool, all black art deco. Went out and picked up our friend Charley to help with the moving, and then had a fun time hanging at his place and playing with his new kitten "Frosty" and watching Dr. Who and such. The moving was a bit of work, but fortunately not too much. Babs laughing at us as we had to go from the back door around to the front with the sofa didn't help though, silly bunny! Maybe next time we'll make her carry it! :-)

That was Saturday, and Sunday we went to something called Trek Putt that's held by our friend [info]critch each year for charity. I hadn't played putt putt in ages, and didn't do too bad for my first time back out. We we all goofing around though of course, which was the main fun of it. We took the longest of any group though in the process. :-) Afterwards some of us went out to eat dinner at Big Boys, dropped by Critches for a short bit to watch some video of us from at Marcon, and then back to [info]babsbunny and my place to watch very silly trek porn with some of our friends.. We all had a real laugh at it really, which was probably the most fun of the day. :-)
